As dumb as I am, they better be smarter than me.
Smarter than me. It's all the more impetus to create better work if you're sitting across the table from someone you respect and want to impress. Plus, you'll learn more.
Isn't as smart as me. Not trying to be some arrogant, self righteous ass by calling myself smart, but my first year at the circus can be summed up in two words: over thinking.
Thank my college and high school years for plaguing me with deep, probing essays. Hopefully I'm breaking out of that a little bit more.
I prefer smarter, but there has to be some kind of balance established. If the smarter partner takes over, then "the other one" is pretty much just helping out, instead of contributing something vital to the project.
Smarter. Or better yet, different smart- someone who has strengths in areas I don't, or who approaches things differently than I do.
I need someone to tell me "no." Defintiely need someone different smarter, don't shut me down, but definitely don't tale everything I say as gold.
As long as someone is a hard worker, shows up, puts the effort in, things can fall into place. Someone can be part of MENSA but can also be just plain lazy. No good.
Luke Sullivan said something a while back about "what I lack in being a genius, I make up for in hard work." Really stuck with me.
And besides, we all have our strengths. Which is how we rule at trivia.
