hells yes. I use the IM. Now that most of my friends are working, we've got all the time in the world to waste. If I don't have their IM they get a myspace comment every now and again. I don't do the what's going on in your world BS I just make jokes and treat them like they are here that way it stays friendly and not like you have to do work to keep up with them.
I'm not as good at it as I should be, but I'm better than I once was.
Yes, in some sorta of sense. Often it's by quick lines via MySpace or Facebook. My preferred method is IM though. It's nice to know that there is someone live on the other end of the line and you don't have to worry about moments of silence/having to excuse yourself as with the phone.
My friends are part of my past and my past has made me who I am. If I don't acknowledge my friends, then I lose true sense of myself.
