The Tragically Hip
Font: Angrybitch
- why would you do that?
Agency: 160over90
- Has to do with blood pressure and your hearts reactions. i won't fuck up the meaning with my attempt at the details.
Band: Boyz II Men
- If you played the right song, at the right time, with the right lady around. It was more that just a band name, it was a promise.
I thought this was the headline-a-day page, not the random-question-asking page. I must be on the wrong blog.
Still my personal favorite, no matter how mainstream they may be:
"This band will go down like a lead balloon." -Keith Moon
"More like a Le(a)d Zeppelin." -John Entwistle
Exit those two, enter John Paul Jones and John Bonham - and the rest is history.
And a handful of Cadillac spots.
Band names): Kathleen Turner Overdrive and Sonic Death Monkey. Both are ficitional bands in the film version of High Fidelity.
(KTO is also apparently a defunct, non-fiction band comprised of former members of Drivin' and Cryin'. Yikes.)
Perhaps the best name I've ever heard for a band is my friend's- MOMSEX. One word and caps. The alternative was Racist For Jesus.
Or whoever that guy was that played after the Pendletons at the Earl that one night. He rocked.
band - lesbians on ecstasy
agency name - wexley school for girls (i want to work there just for the name) and 72 and sunny (because i was watching L.A. Story again the other night and realized that's where it came from)
font name - dimestore hooker
---FIST OF LUCIFER---
Self Proclaimed Greatest Band On Earth
I just happened to discover that there’s a Canadian band called A Is to B as B Is to C. (Of course they're Canadian.)
But my all-time favorite band name is Ruckus, the rockers who played my 8th Grade dance. My favorite agency name is Fort Franklin, because of what it means to its founder. And my favorite font name is Sushi, ’cause I love me some hamachi.
isn't Ruckus also the name of the band in Elizabethtown?
Actually, I take back my vote for favorite font name.
After sleeping on it and allowing my brain to answer that question on its own, my real answer is Baskerville.
I pick Baskerville, not because it sounds like Balserville, but because the name has been so effective, for decades, at fooling me. I always think Baskerville will be some ornate, old-world, decorative font. But when I select it in a doc, it always turns out to be a poor man’s, stocky, board-roomy Times.
Just goes to show you the power of a good name.
Oh. How did I forget my beloved Tenacious D?
I don't know about name but the most well branded band HAS to be The White Stripes.
A Flock of Seagulls. Extra points for styling the hair to look like a seagull.
