From whom or what have you learned the most?

Every time I have to write a bio, I mention my kids.
My role as a father has been my proudest, and my kids have taught me some of my most important life lessons. Plus, they’re hilarious.
So who (or what) has taught or inspired you?

I guess I want to pay homage to being raised in the Midwest. Genuine dive bars. Genuine coffee shops. Genuine pawn shops. Genuine hard workers too. There is something special about a place where you can start a conversation by saying something about the weather and fit right in. And no matter how long I'm away I can come back and catch right up as though I was never gone. I think those kinds of places/people are the best. They keep you grounded.

I didn't really think about this until I went home for Xmas break. I had a layover in Memphis before I made the final flight to Omaha. It was really badass how I could tell the Nebraskans apart from everyone else. I picked up the vibe as soon as I found my terminal. Felt right at home.

My grandfather that just passed away. He lived through the great depression, WWII, adversity and hardship yet never complained. He was always optimistic and tough as nails. He was a great role model and I'm glad I had the chance to see somebody that had a genuine heart. That's hard to find anymore.

I would have to say that I learned the most from my father. Whenever I was sick at school, he would leave work and take me home. He would play some of the stupidest games with me when I was younger. And he inspired my technological devotion and exploration. He's truly my best friend and my role model.

When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. I hope I'm freakin' ready soon.
